Before you renovate a condo: a checklist
Management paperwork, deposits, working hours and what you may not touch — get them right and nothing stalls.
Every building has its own renovation rules. Ask management for the latest copy before talking prices with anyone.
What to prepare
Drawings or a job list, the names of workers, the damage deposit and the dates and hours of work.
What you usually can't change
Structural walls, shared pipes and shafts, external windows and balcony railings.
Checklist

- Submit a request with drawings; wait for approval
- Pay the damage deposit
- Book the service lift
